Interview: "Tonight Contigo" - Ariel Rose

Congratulations on the release of your new single, Tonight Contigo!! What was your inspiration for writing this new track?

Ariel Rose: Thank you so much! My inspiration for this song came from my own experiences. I recently released my Tropical Visual EP, In Paraíso, and learned a lot from that process. This is my first release since my EP and I wanted my next song to be fun but also show my evolution as an artist. “Tonight Contigo” is a sexy, fun and fresh sound that mixes pop and trap with a latin beat. It features English lyrics and some Spanish phrases that talk about being hesitant to settle down until finding the person who changes that. The song is about a powerful woman who goes after what she wants but guards her heart. When she finally finds someone she's interested in, she decides she wants to be with that person and explore the possibilities.

Can you take us through what your songwriting process looks like?

Ariel Rose: I collaborated on this song with Mike Munoz and Gio Fernandez, known for working with Prince Royce, and other notable artists. The songwriting process is always special to each song, but in this case, I had a clear idea of what I wanted and we were able to work together to create something that we are really proud of!

I love the music video for this new single!! Any favorite memories or funny stories you want to share from the shoot?

Ariel Rose: Thank you! Filming the music video was such an exciting process. I particularly loved the team of people I was working with and the four looks were really fun to create. We went with a retro glam look for this video and we wanted a very over the top and luxurious feel.Filming day was very long and we filmed the video in Miami during the rainy season, so we were very concerned with the weather, as it was getting quite cloudy. We were just praying that it wouldn’t rain! It actually started pouring for the night about 30 minutes after we wrapped up filming so I feel like we dodged a bullet with that one!

If you could be the opener for any artist in the world, who would you pick and why?

Ariel Rose: I absolutely love Ricky Martin. I grew up listening to his albums on repeat so opening for him would be an incredible feeling. I also love Carlos Vives and would be so honored to open for him as well! We have some amazing artists in Miami and being able to collaborate with any of them would be incredible.

What are some of your favorite hobbies to do when you’re not making music?

Ariel Rose: I am an avid poetry writer. I love reading poetry, writing poetry, and I’ve actually been working on my very first poetry book that I hope to publish within the next year. I also enjoy baking and painting. I really love doing anything that involves creativity!

What can we expect next from you?! After listening to your stuff, I am so excited to see what’s next for you!!

Ariel Rose: I am working on new music, as well as booking shows and performances, so make sure to follow me on my social media to stay tuned for all of the latest news!
