Interview: "Walkaway" - LIZZIE

Your new single "Walkaway" is a beautiful yet melancholic song about love and relationships. What's the story behind it?

LIZZIE: The story I wanted to get across to people is if someone in the relationship

isn't trying or you feel the person with you doesn't feel the same way they did before, that they aren't worth the tears or pain and to know it's ok to walk away if it doesn't feel right. Even if it hurts you to leave them sometimes it's better that way as you may

find someone who will love you as much as you love him/her.

How did you get started writing songs and performing?

LIZZIE: I began to properly write songs after I recorded a cover song with a young

local producer, after writing an EP with him I was then introduced to Darren Martyn of DMunsigned through my vocal coach Amelia Mccloskey, and through Amelia

I've had lots of opportunities to perform live in front of people.

What's your songwriting process like?

LIZZIE: My process of writing is that I usually come up with a melody or a tune and either write a chorus or a verse.

How do you balance college life with your music career?

LIZZIE: I usually try to finish any college work I have before looking at my music so

that once it's finished I can go back to creating things and having fun. I will admit that sometimes it is hard to balance everything as some days I may not spend time with my friends and make valuable memories. I think recently I've managed to speak up about taking breaks or spacing things out or opening my diary a bit so I can have fun with my friends and make those memories, as to me my friends are my strength and my inspiration for doing music.

What has been one of your favorite live performances?

LIZZIE: My favorite performance has to be doing a performance at teddy rocks, as it was my first time going there as well as my first time performing there.

What kind of plans do you have for your music career in the near future? Are you working on other projects?

LIZZIE: For the future I'm planning to try and perform at more venues and more

festivals and get more exposure. and I'm currently working on my third EP which will hopefully show the world a different side to me.
