Review: "Crying in the Swimming Pool" - Moli

A song surrounding the feelings of loneliness and feeling isolated "Crying in the Swimming Pool '' embodies the depressive feelings that are present when one may hypothetically cry in a swimming pool. The singer utilizes a strong melody alongside well written lyrics in order to create a strongly impactful song, While sounding upbeat, the song manages to encompass a specific type of sadness that many encounter.

Beginning with soothing melodies paired with light vocals the song sets a very urethral sound for the song. In the background there is a slight 80’s pop sound that helps to uplift the song. The beat begins to pick up for the chorus of the song while continuing to have a light sound to the song. These aspects create an interesting fuse of sounds that is not only reminiscent but soothing to the listeners. The lyricism within the song greatly complements these aspects of the song. In conjunction all of the various aspects of the song create an 80’s inspired indie pop song that has a light and happy sound while the lyrics hold a deeper meaning.
