Either way there’s an obvious theme of being shut out and feeling alone in these issues, but in playing the song itself there is a sense of laughable relatability and community.

The pacing is extremely quick, with Alec rattling through lines, almost mocking how he knows them so well due to how much he’s done this- slowing down only when he says “I’ve heard it all before”. The instrumentals match that storytelling theme set at the start of the song, being minimally used to keep the pace with quick, electric beats but not much beyond this. Alec Benjamin uses his voice as an instrument in this case, playing the therapist, himself, and a narrator, and adjusting his tone accordingly. It’s not until the first chorus that a real change in the music itself can be heard and it's an impactful one because of it, cementing that clever line “I sent my therapist to therapy” in the listener’s mind.
