Review: "Love" - Ari Dayan

In today’s social media obsession, instagram promotes a world where everyone looks perfect all the time. In reality, life is not always what the pictures online show. “Love” is a song that touches on this self-struggle many of us face with societal pressures. We have to appear perfect at all times to the world, but really we're struggling and it’s draining. Dayan’s newest single explores the ideas of simply forgetting all about that nonsense and just focusing on yourself. As you get older, you have to realize that you’re your biggest supporter and you have to love yourself for who you are, no matter what social media might say.

“Love” uses all the right upbeat bass lines to create a fun, dance-pop hit. Ari Dayan has a stunning voice that carries emotion and power when she sings. Her vocals add just the right about of energy to make this song more uplifting and fun. It’s simply impossible not to want to get up and dance when you hear this single. I absolutely love the energy this song brings with the synths and pop beats. My favorite part of the song was when Ari sings, “I look up on the mirror and say/ I love you.” I think these lyrics perfectly capture what Ari wants to convey in her song. That it’s all about how you see yourself and you should always love yourself first and remember who you are before you try and get sucked into whatever society tells you. I love the idea of waking up in the morning and looking in the mirror and saying positive things about myself. I think this message is good for all ages to hear and remember. This is the perfect tune to listen to when you’re feeling down, this pop track will inspire you and pump you up!

Ari Dayan is no stranger to the spotlight. Dayan started dancing and performing from a young age, which later led her to start writing songs in her teen years. From there, she’s released music that is without a doubt pure Ari. Her lyricism and style as an artist make her stand out and have attracted praise from Wonderland Magazine, Flaunt and more. Dayan continues to work with up-and-coming producers such as Brandon Bost (Taylor Swift) and songsmiths such as “KoKo” (Katy Perry). If you like artists like Sia and Robyn, you won’t want to miss out on anything by Ari Dayan.
