Everyone's A Star 5 Seconds of Summer 5SOS Stage Tour
Stage Pre-Show

The concert was structured with different acts, lining the story of 5SOS and their career. Each act came along with video footage in between, following a comedic and possibly fictional (wink) story of how they became “the biggest boyband in the world”, their downfall, their alleged breakup, and how they came back together. With a literal limo on stage with Ashton’s drum set on top, the concert started with the boys emerging from inside. For the first act, this was the peak of their career, where they played heavy bangers to hype up the crowd such as “NOT OK”, “No. 1 Obsession” and “Teeth”.

Then, quite quickly, came ACT II: THE FALL, which came with a PowerPoint break in the middle on how to have a successful tour. This part of the show is quite literally catered and personalized to every city. The boys get to know local facts and explore before the show, sharing photos about what they’ve learned and where they’ve gone, making it a more intimate and engaging experience.

Right before playing “Boyband”, they bring a fan on stage to present them with “The Greatest BoyBand in the World” award, which they win each show, and give a silly speech.

ACT III: THE YEARNING is for all of us emotional fans out there, where they give us a come down moment of sad songs such as “Bad Omens”, “Ghost of You” and “I’m Scared I’ll Never Sleep Again”. The healing energy in the arena as everyone sang these songs together really felt like something else.

ACT IV: THE BREAKUP made fun of the times where rumors have been spread about 5SOS splitting up. It also gave us a chance to hear a little bit of their solo music live, which considering they’ve all come out with solo projects within the last year or so, I was so happy they incorporated this into the tour.

For Act V: THE RISE, they all came back together to sing the most beautiful version of Amnesia I’ve ever heard. They sang in harmony together with acoustic instruments. I’m not gonna lie, this moment got me teary eyed. After this was the secret song reveal, which was “You Don’t Go To Parties”.

ACT VI: THE BEGINNING took things way back, acknowledging the music that started it all and fan favorite 5SOS classics. Obviously ending on the song that got them their jumpstart into mainstream “She Looks So Perfect”. You’d think it would’ve stopped there, but it didn’t.

Everyone waited patiently as it felt like an encore was coming. Clueless little old me didn’t know that my life was about to change, as my seats were front row right beside the right tunnel where 5SOS was about to walk through the crowd to sing “Everyone’s a Star!”. Before I knew it, my husband was catching Luke’s sweaty Pittsburgh Penguins towel that he threw and I was shaking Michael’s hand. I’ve been a 5SOS fan since the very beginning, and after not getting to see them live since 2013, this moment meant everything to me. Once the guys made it back to the stage and finished the song, they had one last one for us, “Youngblood”. Confetti flew everywhere (for the third time that night, by the way) as the crowd happily lost their minds.

Peep me being the first person to shake Michael's hand. And yes, we caught Luke's towel, too.

What made this show so special was it didn't just feel like an normal concert; it felt like a whole a** event. It was an interactive experience made for the fans, quite literally making everyone feel like a star. There wasn't a single dull moment. It was fun, dramatic, hilarious, emotional, and collectively a beautiful moment that should honestly go down as one of the best, thought-out tours of our generation. They way that 5SOS proved to the crowd not just how much they love their job, but how much they genuinely love their fans and want them to have the best day of their lives, was the most effort I've ever seen from any artist I've seen live before; and that's saying a lot. Even if you only know a few of their songs, if you can get your hands on tickets before this tour ends, I highly recommend seeing this show. You will not regret it!
