Your single “Dark” is the perfect way to show off your incredible, powerful vocals!! What is the story behind this song and what inspired you to write it?
Maria: Thank you so much! I wrote "Dark" while going through tough relationships with friends and people I thought loved me. I was in a lot of pain and it motivated me to express that in a song.
When did you start performing and writing your own music?
Maria: I have been singing at open mics and restaurants for a couple years now but this past year is when I started professionally. I just recently performed at the Life is Beautiful Festival which was my first live performance as an independent artist.
I was listening to some of your covers on your IG and they are soooooo good!! What cover are you most proud of thus far?
Maria: Thank you so much!! I love singing covers but I would have to say that I'm most proud of my "Drivers License" cover.
How was your experience performing at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Vegas?! Congratulations on getting chosen!! Incredibly well deserved :)
Maria: It was a dream!! A year ago I would've never thought I would be performing in Vegas, at the Life is Beautiful Festival!! It was definitely nerve wracking but it was a lot of fun.
What song do you currently have on repeat?
Maria: I currently have "Gentle", by Lexi Jayde stuck on repeat. Her voice is incredible!
What can we expect from your new album that’s in the works?! I can’t wait to take a listen and follow along on your journey!! :)
Maria: It is going to be a wide variety with some very vulnerable ballad songs as well as upbeat pop music. I am so excited for it!
