Review: "A Truth" - Maddison Kate

While breakups are a tough thing to go through both mentally and physically. The pain doesn’t last for too long before you realize just how much the other person didn’t deserve you. Maddison Kate’s latest release “A Truth” is about breaking up with someone who never really appreciated who they were. Relationships can only work when both sides give their all to not only themselves but to each other. If there is no communication whatsoever about anything then the relationship can’t grow. When you truly love someone nothing else matters, not the past, not the imperfections, not who they used to be. But rather how things are worked out, who that person is going to become and how you will both grow to become a strong couple.
From the beginning of this song, I was immediately hooked as the guitar was so attention grabbing. With the lovely guitar strings being strung I knew just how epic this track would be, especially with her commanding vocals. Her voice was so soul stirring making this entire track powerfully in every possible way. The lyrics were insanely bold with lines like “If only you knew, if you knew, / how much I actually pity you.” They were also full of so much truth and pain with lines like “Precious boy you think that love is just a mask / worn by those who don’t wanna be sad.” I seriously just could not get enough of how raw and relatable this song was. I will definitely be playing this song on repeat for the next month, and I highly recommend you doing the same!
Maddison Kate is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Meanjin (Brisbane) Australia. She released her first single in 2021 titled “I’ll Be Free.” While her first single was released in 2021 the music industry is no stranger to her.
