Tess Anderson tackles the dangers of falling too hard, too fast for someone with her latest single, "Anodyne." Like the song's title, Anderson describes her lover as a drug, addictive and making her numb to some potential toxic behavior. Expressing how she can't see the red flags, the singer states, "I’m too high/Can’t read warning signs/You’re messing with my state of mind/Addicted, caught up in your ties/I keep crossing a line/When you’re my anodyne." Despite seeing that the relationship is dangerous, Anderson can't help herself in "Anodyne" and keeps coming back for more.
Falling past the point of no return, Tess Anderson holds nothing back as she exposes the truth behind a risky, perilous relationship in "Anodyne." The fiery track features heavy hitting drums, bold guitar riffs, and feisty melodies, giving it the perfect pop-punk soundscape. Anderson's vocals are spellbinding with her seamlessly shifting between singing sultry lines and belting over the song's impactful moments. A compelling listen, Anderson balances the track's intoxicating verses with face-melting choruses, masterfully expressing the conflicting feelings in the lyrics.
