With the first release since her debut album last January, Seattle based singer-songwriter Tinsley introduces “Bad Enough”, a sarcastic and witty single dropped
February 13th. This track is about realizing you don’t even need to wish revenge on your ex, their life is ‘bad enough’ without you in it. They have lost the light and happiness that you brought to them, and are now facing their own demise. Inspired by the songwriting and storytelling behind Taylor Swift and the indie pop soundscapes of Maggie Rogers, Tinsley blends influences to make her own conversational, fiery, and empowering style. “It’s a celebratory post-breakup anthem for anyone who’s realized that moving on and thriving is the best revenge,” she says.
The track opens with vocalizations of the words “bad enough”, which are repeated later in the song as the chorus. She hits the ground running getting straight to the point of her lyrics- his life is bad enough now. In the first verse, she tears him down with various gossip that she has heard: he’s been dumped (shocker there), his new song sucks (she loves that), and he’s a total manchild (she’s not surprised). In the second verse, she sings, “I know your life sucks / So I don’t need revenge / Cause you’re doing bad enough / Bad enough on your end”. While some of her lyrics dance around this topic, she chooses her own peace by coming out and saying what is on her mind. She drives her idea home, proving that she has moved forward with her life while he just moves backward.
Tinsley is a Seattle-based indie pop singer and songwriter, who has been releasing music since 2018. She started by sharing videos of her original songs on Instagram and YouTube, and quickly blew up on the internet and around Seattle. People loved her vocals and her realistic lyrics, and she began to partner with electronic producers such as Justin Hartinger and Joza. She has released two EPs, one in 2020 and one in 2023. She released her first album, simply titled “Tinsley” in January of 2025, and took time for herself this past year, until coming back and releasing “Bad Enough”.
