Review: "Bitter" - FELIN

FELIN brings inensity and energy with the release of her song "Bitter." She brings the energy of an early 2000's rock anthem feeling like a long lost sibling of an Avril Lavigne song. FELIN highlights how women in the rock industry really change the game by bringing beautiful vocals and emotional lyrics to an engine powered by fun drum tracks that just make you want to jump. Listening to this song, you can't help but head bang while grooving along and some of the best lyrics I've ever heard in a song. FELIN brings up a controversial topic on how great it feels when someone who has wronged us gets exactly what they deserve. Sometimes it is gratifying to see that happen to them and a lot of us may not want to admit that. She exhibits exactly what rock music in that sense all while being catchy enough that it'll be stuck in your head for weeks.
I will always be a sucker for a catchy rock song. Nothing I love more is being able to rock out and jam all while having something fun to sing as rock music sometimes sacrfices that. FELIN ensures that the vocals are just as beautiful as the production of the song. The beginning is the only part of the song that gives us a second to breathe until the rest of the song truly takes your breath away with angst. Shortly after, the song throws itself against each other switching up between half-time and full speed which correlates with the lyrics. It's such a smart move for FELIN to do this because it's like a que for the listener to listen into the lyrics when the music cuts in half. The song as an entirety is one for the books that everyone will find something to connect to while having a great time listening.
FELIN is a Swedish artist that fuses punk rock, electric and pop music. Her lyrics usually touch on topics like women's rights, social injustice and what it really means to be your true self. FELIN is known for drawing inspiation from Blondie and Debbie Harry, following pursuit of becoming her own iconic sound just like them. FELIN has always had a thing for music as she started bands in her teens and in school which shows in her work today since you can feel the confidence in the music that keeps coming out. FELIN is also a touring musician and has performed with big names like Agnes and Thundermother and you can find tickets to see her live this year.
