“Blueprints” by Philip La Rosa stands with dynamic instrumentals, particular vocals, and a looming metaphor that communicates what words alone fail to describe. La Rosa symbolizes a “broken heart” through cautious diction that indicates failing architecture. Key words like “halls”, “blueprints”, “foundation”, “walls”, and other thematic phrases allude to a falling building that’s equivalent to a crushed heart- the most notable result of a shattered relationship. He offers a written plan of his emotional demise, detailed with clues about the faults of the relationship, like outgrowth and distrust. With a cracked foundation, La Rosa intimately notes the fall of a friendship and love, allowing adaptation of the song for varied experiences of grief. This versatility makes “Blueprints” such a valuable piece- listeners can relate and apply the song to their own mourning.

La Rosa strides through the introduction with a brief, clean piano melody that attracts his voice after two bright 8-counts. He exhibits a forgiving, compelling voice complemented by a layered harmonization, or slight echo. This creates an auditory illusion of stretched vocals, resembling the unrewarded overexertion of emotion that adheres the lyrics to the sound within the song. The way the vocals interact with the instrumentals create an equilibrium for a complete, satisfying listen. Though tantalizing in terms of emotional vulnerability and mental health empowerment, "Blueprints" still evokes sorrow. In addition to the eloquence of La Rosa’s lyricism, a medley of classic ballad and synth pop sounds welcome a musical diversity that parallels La Rosa’s dedication to self expression and representation.

Philip La Rosa began making music with a passion for the genre and an appreciation of the opportunity to tell stories. Debut album, “Strong”, positively affected his reach as an artist, paving the way for the popularization of one of his 2016 releases, “Pride”. La Rosa displays infectious honesty in his art that frequently draws listeners from Australia and the US into his sentimental hold. He often suggests support of truth, especially in LGBTQ+ representation and his artistic process. In collaboration with Australian producer Nic Rollo, La Rosa aims for further integrity and impressive depth that mirrors growth and freedom within his career.
