Review: "Body Bag" - Piper Connolly

Artist Piper Connolly has released her brand new single ''Body Bag" which explores the complexities of having a someone believe they've completely broken you down. It's a song that allows you to feel empowered and prove that nothing can keep you down. "Body Bag" has a pop rock edge to it that vividly paints what it's like to be backstabbed by someone you trust. The song is energetic and gritty, and Piper Connolly really becomes a rockstar on this track. What really works with "Body Bag" is it allows listeners to fee inspired by the fight that comes from the track, the fight to prove to everyone that no one can simply take you out.
The first thing that comes to mind when you listen to "Body Bag" is how great of a rock voice Piper Connolly has. We see a great vocal performance from her on this track, especially during the chorus. As you listen to "Body Bag" it does feel like our main character is being hunted down, almost as if they live in a horror film. You can see a lot of this in the lyrics imagery, and the style of the song adds to the horror aspect as well. As previously mentioned, there's a lot of fight in this song, the speaker constantly reiterates how they will break out of any box anyone puts them in. "Body Bag" isn't just an anthem for standing up against backstabers, it's also an incredibly fun song. It's a song you want on repeat because of how addictive it gets.
Piper Connolly is an artist based in Los Angeles who has been credited for her passionate songwriting and her distinct musical style. She is heavily inspired by the classic early 2000s pop-rock sounds, but she still brings in so much of herself in her work. Currently, her brand new EP She's Too Much is set to be released on September 25th and it's said to be a raw exploration of the rollercoaster that is youth. She also has a few upcoming tour dates as well, the first being on 8/29 in Scottsdale, AZ. Piper Connolly is an exciting young artist to come across because she has such clear devotion for her work. It's the kind of dedication that proves she has a bright future ahead.
