Valentine’s Day is this week, and love is in the air. But what is the best kind of love? Self-love, of course. Nashville singer GRAVAs new single "Bounty" delves into this self-confident mindset. The single is a girl boss anthem that reminds you that you are the star in any room. It's meant to lift you up and give listeners that feeling of invincibility. Her soothing siren voice had my head swinging from left to right. The lyrics set out to tell listeners that we are the prize in every situation. This song is perfect to listen to while getting ready for a night out or when you're feeling low.
The song's lyrics convey a sense of being underestimated. As she takes us through the story, she shows that this person has misunderstood her. She is not the kind of girl to go peacefully. “I’m not a girl to kiss and tell/But I’m not a girl to wish you well/Cause I draw a crowd, and it’s nothing unusual.” This verse is a turning point in the song, where it reaches its full potential as a women's empowerment anthem. It feels like something you'd hear at a Tate McRae show. It's nonstop adrenaline after this section, as we're hit with an onslaught of instruments that make you feel like you're in a music video.
