Pop newcomer Flo Olavarria just released her latest single “Broke for You” on July 12, 2024. The pop anthem tackles the experience of meeting someone that you want to pursue a relationship with, but are unable to because of the heartbreak you’re still working through from the person before. Laden with infectious pop hooks and gentle vocals, “Broke for You” comes together as a testament to the experience of recovering from a broken heart. Even when you find someone that is seemingly perfect, it’s difficult to piece together your heart and open it up to someone else. Make sure to add “Broke for You” on whatever your favorite streaming streaming service is.

“Broke for You” boldly opens with the line, “Give me a reason not to love you / ‘Cause I’m not ready to stay.” Already, she opens up about how the aftermath of her last relationship has made her not ready to commit to anything. In the second verse, she dives deep into introspection, asking herself questions like, “Why can’t I handle such a good thing?” But she knows the answer, and so do we. Because the last time she gave her heart to someone, it broke. This is a relatable experience that Olavarria had been holding onto for years. With this track, set against a dreamy pop backdrop, she gets vulnerable and admits how much she is haunted by her ex.

Singer-songwriter Flo Olavarria was born in Chile, and now, is based in Canada. Her cross-cultural background shapes her sound, which is a blend of pop and rock. So far in her budding music career, she has performed for the President of Singapore, been feature in Music Row Magazine and Rolling Stone, and performed across Canada. She has decided to start releasing a new song every month, so if you enjoyed “Broke for You,” there is certainly more to look forward to!
