Review: "Buttercups" - Ava Valianti

Some of the best memories you make are with those you love the most. But oftentimes as life changes and you grow older some of those in your most cherished memories are no longer in your life. While it may be hard to realize this and come to terms with it. It’s also something that reminds you of the person you used to be when they were around. Ava Valianti released her latest track titled “Buttercups” on July 11, 2025. A song that reminds us of the good times we shared between those we loved the most.
“Buttercups” opens with Ava’s beautiful voice that quickly grabs your attention for the rest of the song. The instrumentals were slow and steady which I loved with a gentle guitar. I really enjoyed this track as it was so delicate and raw at every possible second. Especially with lyrics like “I think that I just need to take it breath by breath” and “You messed me up / I don’t trust trusting.” You could just hear how intense and meaningful this song was to the artist through her emotions. The mood of the song was also super bittersweet and passionate which made it stand out even more.
Ava Valianti is a 15-year-old singer/songwriter from Newbury, Massachusetts. She started releasing music in 2023 with her first single titled “Bubble Wrap.” While she is a young artist her passion and drive for creating music has not gotten in the way of her dreams.
