Naomi Scott has released her new single, “Cherry.” An exploration into ‘90s dance-pop, “Cherry” celebrates sexuality and the process of having fun. Using a metaphorical cherry, Scott walks her partner through how to please her when going through the motions. Comfortable using direction and reassurance with her partner, Scott shows that having fun with a partner is more than just actions–it also requires clear communication and faith in one another. Inspired by the likes of Janet Jackson, Scott delivers an ode to ‘90s pop and successfully does so. With its sensual and danceable beat along with Scott’s amazing vocals, listeners will find themselves listening to “Cherry” on repeat.

“Cherry” is sweet, sensual, and perfect to listen to while getting ready for a first date. With a playful, fun energy behind the shining vocals Scott delivers, it’ll be hard for listeners to not ditch that first date and dance to this song all night. Rhythmic drums and an infectious bass line fill out the instrumentation, making sure Scott’s vocals blend seamlessly with the song’s production. Speaking of Scott’s vocals, they really are a highlight when listening to Cherry. Scott perfectly emulates ‘90s pop in her voice while still carrying across the message. “Cherry” as a song shows how communication during sex can be fun and sensual while still getting the point across.
