Review: "Could've Been" - Chez

Everyone has that lost love that you wonder about every once in a while. You think about where they might be now, what they're doing, and if they still think about you too. In Chez's song, 'Could've Been', she finds herself running all the scenarios of what a relationship might have been like if they had just stayed. Sometimes it's hard to let go of what you imagined your life would be like with a particular someone. You had your heart set on them, and now all you have left is what could've been.

This song is dreamy to say the least, the mellow guitar with reverb gives this sense of being within your imagination, a dream land. Chez has incredibly unique and soft vocals that captivate you instantly. The longer the song goes on, the more emotion you can feel behind the music as it builds up into a euphoric symphony of guitars and percussion. The emotion that comes from her performance is unbelievably overwhelming; you can feel every piece of sadness and longing in each word she sings. 'Could've Been' has poetically written lyrics that anyone who has loved can relate to. It's impossible not to love and connect with this song.

Chez is an incredible singer-songwriter residing in Cheltenham, England. 'Could've Been' is the title track of her new 3 track EP that also includes songs 'Bourbon and Poor Choices' and 'Majesty' which she wrote from personal experiences she'd gone through and have seen others go through as well. Chez also hosts her own radio show on Krush FM and radio DJ. Go give her full EP a listen!
