With Memorial Day happening on Monday, it's officially the kick off of Summer. The best part of Summer for me is seeing what songs really hit and become the songs that we play years down the line when we need to go back to summer of '26. "CRASH COURSE DUMMY" by ill peach feels like the perfect song to capture that for us. It's a song that can stand on its own or stick out on an album that gives sunshine vibes and dancing at a club. ill peach's calming voice and groovy beats all come together in this song all tied together with an important, clear message as well as very raw and honest lyrics.
The beginning of this song feels distopian and trippy in the best ways possible. The reverb on the vocals are so beautiful and immediately put us in the right headspace to take a seat and listen. Once the first verse starts, you start to take notice of the how the song starts taking its shape with the drums. What I really love the most about this song are all the little details involved like being able to hear the metronome in certain parts of it as well as other little beeps and add ins. Things like that always make me happy because I feel like the artist fills in every little space with music. Overall, the song feels like a perfect song to drive to or dance to with your friends.
