There’s a Japanese proverb that goes: “Be like a bamboo. It bends, but does not break; it is flexible, yet firmly rooted.” You need to surround yourself with people who push you to take on new adventures and be the best you can be. While doing so, it is important to stay grounded. In his new groovy pop-R&B track, “Down For Anything,” Daniel Levi writes about this and how much more fulfilling life can be when you embrace whatever it throws at you. Levi took the title quite literally when you accepted an Instagram follower’s dare to jump out of a plane. You can go watch the video of how it all went down on his YouTube channel.
The instrumentation of “Down For Anything” fits the chill and carefree mood of the title. The drums begin in the first verse as Levi sings, “I don’t mind a little rain on my suit.” I really like this line because I think it embodies the title and sets the tone of the whole song. Levi is ready to face the unexpected. He doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty if need be. I also liked the part at the end of the chorus when Levi sings “down, down, down” It gave the song a pop sound and made it catchy. Another aspect I liked about this particular part was the electric guitar in the background. It blended with the drums and matched the inflection of the vocals. Needless to say, I think all listeners will be inspired to adopt Levi’s carefree vibe by the end of the song.
Daniel Levi is a singer/songwriter from Estonia who has started to gain international attention. If you want to hear more of him, his 2015 single, “On & On,” is a dance track that bears an inspirational message about fighting for love. The song has acquired over 600 million streams on Spotify and Youtube. “Down For Anything” is Levi’s first release of 2023. He is currently working hard on his first full-length studio album that is expected to be ready by October of this year. He hit the ground running with this first song and I can’t wait to listen to the rest. Follow all of his socials down below to be the first to hear of his new music.
