Situation-ships are hands down the most complicated form of a relationship. You’re practically dating, but it’s not defined or labeled. Casual without commitment, but it’s a dangerous game when you’re one who falls easily. EMI WIDE just released her heartbreaking summer anthem “End Me” about how confusing and frustrating situation-ships can be. It’s an adult contemporary track bringing all the vibes of artists such as Tove Lo and Upsahl. EMI took her own personal experience and wrote this catchy pop tune for anyone out there who can relate. If you're out there in a situation-ship, this song is for you to dance your tears away.
“End Me” is a vulnerable pop track highlighting the internal emotions of unrequited love. EMI found herself in a casual involvement with someone that ultimately led her to heartbreak. She held onto the hope for more, but this person shut down any actual connection beyond physical. “You left your heart and emotions by the door.” Nothing hurts more than the continual disappointment of wanting something more with someone who only offers you enough to feel satisfied for a moment. It’s an addiction that feels impossible to walk away from, but walking away is so necessary. “Cus you got me hooked, but now I need to get out.” If the person you’re head over heels for doesn’t feel the same, it’s time to close that door and never look back. We deserve to receive the love we give and anyone not willing to do so is a waste of your time.
