Review: "Everything Is Beautiful" - Kai Bosch

Kai Bosch Everything is Beautiful Cover Art

Pop artist Kai Bosch has ended the summer on a sweet, sensational note with the release of the new, club-perfect, “Everything Is Beautiful”. From the very start of “Everything Is Beautiful”, you feel as though you’re being taken on a roller coaster ride that you don’t want to get off. The introduction brings traits of pop and dance together that transition and branch off into other genres as the song unwinds. Once Bosch’s voice is introduced, the backing elements die down and allows his voice to shine alongside a catchy, dance-inducing mix of beats. At this point, I found myself hooked on the sound of the song and straying away from analyzation of the lyrics. The track is so explosive and complex that I found it difficult to walk away from bobbing my head to it, causing me to return to the introduction. Once I’d returned, I was pleasantly surprised to find layered lyricism that is both upbeat and meaningful.

Although “Everything Is Beautiful” may rope you in with its sound, the meaning behind the song enhances the experience of interacting with it. Within the lyrics, Bosch dives into his feelings and enjoyment in being romantically linked with the subject of the song. He compares their blue eyes to swimming pools, both a clever and classic reference to falling in love, while going on to explain that everything is beautiful with them. Similar to this reference, there are several times where the phrase “Everything was lost, until I found you” is mentioned. Not only does it play into the narrative of the deep romance happening within the song, but these feelings are additionally explored through the overall sound of “Everything Is Beautiful”. As Bosch dives deeper into these feelings, seemingly confessing his feelings for this person, the tone of the song shifts. While there may be the exact same lyrics used as before, or may have been slightly changed to match that part of the song more, Bosch utilizes them in the best way possible. This allows not only for understandable, enthralling storytelling but also showcases his ability to connect the tone of the lyrics to the tone of the song’s overall sound.

Kai Bosch is a 21-year-old artist from Cornwall, England. At age thirteen, Bosch began his musical journey by creating piano covers of music from artists like Lana Del Rey and Lorde.
