Lauren Presley’s latest single, "Everything You Hate," is an empowering anthem that takes back control of the narrative. The track explores the aftermath of a break-up through a strong, independent lens. Instead of staying home and mourning the end of this relationship, Presley is going out, having fun, and doing everything they despise. After being stuck under this person’s thumb and being drained of all joy, Presley is now liberated from the shackles of this toxic relationship. While she is having the time of her life with her friends, whom her subject doesn’t like, she hopes they're miserable and bitter. “Everything You Hate” is a masterpiece that resonates with listeners and reminds them never to let a partner dull their shine.

“Everything You Hate” is an alt-rock track that contains an angsty, powerful soundscape that complements the candid lyrics. The song starts with a soft, subtle intro that transitions into the first verse, where a soft guitar lulls the listener. The track slowly increases in the pre-chorus, building anticipation for the full production. When the chorus hits, the heavy-rock instrumentation is introduced, paired with vocal distortion to create the fiery atmosphere. The second verse tones the song back down while maintaining the drums to home in on the lyrics, before exploding into the chorus and bridge. The well-rounded track highlights Presley’s impressive vocal range and introspective lyrics, making “Everything You Hate” another flawless track in her discography.

Lauren Presley is an alt-pop singer-songwriter from Texas, now based in Nashville. She is known for her raw, emotional lyrics and her powerhouse vocals. Taking inspiration from Halsey, Jutes, and Maggie Lindemann, Presley blends alt-pop, dark-pop, and rock to create an unforgettable sound. Since her debut, she has amassed over 50 million views and over 10 million streams. Her breakout EP, Hanging In the Balance, and her hit single, “People Leave,” have received critical acclaim from fans and notable press, including Wonderland, Notion, Earmilk, tmrw, SPIN, and CLASS.
