**TRIGGER WARNING - ADDICTION**
Addiction is something that many struggle with, especially in todays society. In the midst of a mental health crisis, many turn to the worst to find some sense of relief from the pain they face inside their minds. Whether it's substance abuse, alcohol, gambling, shopping, food or even a toxic relationship, addiction is something that can be extremely hard to break free from. It turns us into someone that we're not and we get lost within the walls of this alternate state of mind it puts us in. We make ourselves believe that we can't live without it, but in reality, we'd be so much better off. Fighting off addiction is one of the bravest things someone can do; it'll only make you stronger, healthier, and a better version of you - the version you were always meant to be.
"FADED" by We Are PIGS and Crazy Town is the collaboration I never knew I need to hear. It's about the lead singer of Crazy Town, known as Shifty Shellshock or Seth Binzer, and his own personal struggles with addiction. The lyricism is raw, emotional and helpful for others who have gone through a similar scenario. The flow is just simply, effortless. It pulls you in immediately with a hazy hook and groove that puts you in a trance throughout the whole duration of the song. The soundscape of this song is a softer approach to We Are PIGS and Crazy Town's usual style which is usually metal and rap rock. This particular song feels more like an alt-pop song with hints of 2000's punk and hip-hop, in similar taste to "Airplanes" by B.o.B and Hayley Williams. This is a song that makes you feel, and I have no doubt you'll have it on repeat once you take a listen.
We Are PIGS is a project created by South African native producer and songwriter, Esjay Jones. Now based in California, Esjay focuses on styles like rock, metal and pop. We Are PIGS is specifically an alt-metal-hybrid project in which she's already collaborated with names like Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins and Brian Welch from KORN. In "FADED", Ejsay collaborates with Crazy Town, a band that has been making music since the 90's. They're best known for their No. 1 hit single, "Butterfly", which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2000. Based in Los Angeles, California, their unique rap rock style continues to grasp the ears alt. music lovers.
