If you’ve ever found yourself stranded at a gas station after a long night out, this is the song for you. I'm always looking for songs to add to the soundtrack of my life, and this one feels perfect. Picture it: you've had a long night out, you see someone you shouldn't be, out with someone who's not you. You're sad, angry, and don't know what to do next. Suddenly, this song comes over the speakers, and you feel a little less alone. Suzie Kennedy's debut single, "False Hope," is an indie-pop song with elements of chill pop and acoustic folk. Perfect for late-night drives with the windows down.
All I could think about while listening was the different choreographies that could fit the song. The instrumental is very melodic and danceable. There isn't an official music video yet; however, if Kennedy wanted one, I have many ideas.  She says, "This song is about falling for someone who feels like a risk. Perfect for overthinking." I appreciated how Kennedy doesn’t take breaks throughout the single. She keeps the momentum building through her lyrics. There is a begging tone to every lyric. "Please don’t open me up, expose the bone/Don’t hold me so close/You’ll start giving me false hope."
Suzie Kennedy is a Nashville based songwriter turned singer-songwriter. She began her career by writing behind the scenes for other artists for many years, which explains how she beautifully weaves through her verses. She is making her debut into the spotlight with a project as honest and raw as the diary pages where songs like these are normally kept. Her songs combine the energy of indie pop with the vulnerability of classic folk music. She has credited as a songwriter for over 80 songs, with over 30 million streams across streaming platforms, but is starting from scratch with her first-ever solo release, "False Hope".
