"feel free" by Jordan Frye sounds exaclty what the title says. The song is descriptive which is perfect for setting the scene for audience members. This specificty is also what adds to the song sounding like a perfect mix between pop and folk. It's the perfect song to capture the end of summer where bonfires become a bit more frequent. The vibe of this song reminds me of an Eagles or James Taylor song that when it comes on, you can't help but feel the reassurance that we are in this moment and only this moment. The song is warm and light making it a breeze to listen to on repeat.
The song starts off allowing listeners to fully know what they're getting into. It starts off with an guitar that's been edited to kick off the energy while bringing in an acoustic guitar to mix the two genres of pop and folk. The lyrics are incredibly descriptive starting off with the ever so sly, "Met a girl out west, goes by Caroline." The uniquness of this by Jordan is such a great way of personalizing the beginning of the song while allowing it to transform into a story. The song from there really captures the perfect vibe of chilling by a fire as the summer starts getting cooler making it perfect for the next few months.
Jordan Frye is a singer, songwriter and producer from California. At the age of 10, Jordan heard James Taylor and knew that they wanted that level of connection with audience members. Jordan released their first album back in 2018 and since then, they've only been building their musical empire. Collaborating with different artists from all sort of backgrounds ranging from gospel, pop, rock etc. and it shows in the music. Being able to have all of these different experiences only allow for a bigger creative vessel which shows in their music.
