Review: "Fiona" - sav.

"Fiona" is sure to be one of the summer's hottest songs, sav. offers us a new perspective on what it means to be the 'it' girl. The whole basis of the song is set around changing the face of modern day society's 'it girl.' My favorite part of the song is the end, because it leaves us hopeful for the future. We gain reassurance from the artist when the lyrics say, "Cliche, coming of age / Small town girl in a big cityscape / It's okay to make mistakes / Right now while you're finding your way." Hearing these lyrics is like taking in a breath of fresh air. We know that it's okay to live our own way even if that means we have to learn from a few mistakes. One message the song conveys that I love the most is to walk with your head held high. The chorus says, "Fiona, you're the new kind of it girl / Hasn't anyone told ya, you're where we want to be / Fiona, you better be proud / Look at you grown up, living the dream." If you work hard for what you want in this life you will recieve it, and other people could very well be inspired by the way you went about achieving those things.

Song's of the summer should, for the most part, always be upbeat and energetic and "Fiona" has no problem meeting that requirement. Right away we're given an upbeat, energetic song that allows us to tap along as we listen. The tone is warm and sincere which helps make the mood evoke deep and nostalgic feelings. There's numerous instruments that bleed throughout the song. From the keyboard, to guitar and even slight hints of piano, we're given a chance to experience all of it. "Fiona" has been so beautifully crafted that when all of these elements come together it allows the lyrics to flow seamlessly.

sav. is an indie pop artist and singer-songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The vibe of her music can vary from upbeat and energetic tracks to heartwrenching love ballads. Having years of classical vocal training under her belt, she incorporates powerhouse lyrics into her music. sav. has been putting out singles since 2022 along with her debut EP last October. She is soon to hit her acoustic tour in the midwest and east cost. Her electric stage presence and performing skills make her shows even more captivating. Make sure you give "Fiona" a listen before summer is in full swing.
