Do you have that kind of friendship with someone where when they need something, you'll be there for them in the drop of a hat? Written for a best friend that finally left a romantic relationship that wasn't good for her, "First Responder" by Julia Adrian lets this friend know that she is not alone. Using wordplay on real life emergency services as the way she is there for her friend, this song is perfect to send to someone you love that needs a shoulder to cry on.
"First Responder" has a soundscape that is both heartfelt and catchy. The hook is an ear-worm that gets you not only singing along, but wanting to dance as well. The cleverness in the lyrics as Julia sings of lifesaving measures, adds to the emotion and relatability of the song. It has a groove that is nostalgic to disco, but with modern pop and electronic elements to give the production a fresh feeling.
Although originally from Boston, singer/songwriter Julia Adrian is a Nashville, Tennessee based artist now, all while making trips to New York and Los Angeles to make new music and collaborate with other musicians. She's a diverse artist that experiments with just about any mainstream genre and sound, each song giving off it's own unique atmosphere. She uses both dry humor and heartfelt storytelling to write her relatable lyrics, along with well thought-out production and melodies. Julia Adrian is planning on releasing her Sophomore EP this September, so if you enjoyed "First Responder", make sure to keep an eye out for more new music by following Julia below!
