"Frankenstein" is the latest release by artist Livy B and it's a fun and thrill-seeking anthem about finding the perfect person with all the right traits. "Frankenstein" creates a ghostly ambiance that has fun with its lyrical content. Making references to other creatures of the night, Livy B knows how to balance the theme to create a fun and energetic space. Using this concept to express what it's like to be with someone who finally reaches your expectations is such a fun idea and the execution works so well. "Frankenstein" is the perfect track for the Halloween season, it almost feels as if listeners are placed in a slasher film as soon as you press play, but in a fun way.
From the beginning of the song, "Frankenstein" makes sure to maintain the eeriness alive. While the story is primarily focusing on the perfect love interest, it is slightly spiteful in some ways, referencing how previous lovers have been incredibly disappointing. The song does so by using famous horror legends to represent past failed relationships. It's a unique way to make a mockery of these past relationships while staying on theme. The musical arrangement of "Frankenstein" is also very well made, and Livy B's voice works so well with this musical style. Livy B's voice is strong and smooth but it has a darkness to it that would fit in well in both pop and rock spaces. There's also moments in the song where it explodes where you can imagine Livy B leaning more into a theatrical style of singing. What Livy B has done with "Frankenstein" is she has taken a typical love song idea and turned into an eccentric anthem that fills audiences minds with vivid imagery that leaves you itching to jump into action and play a role in any horror film.
Livy B is an Australian artist who has been musically involved for some time now, but her name ignited when she participated in Australian Idol in 2024. Growing up she was inspired by artists like Stevie Nicks, Cher, AC/DC, and more. She was named "Best New Music" by Triple J, a popular Australian Radio Station, and has been associated with other popular alternative artists like Halsey and Julia Wolf. Her musical style combines elements of pop, punk and rock, creating high energy and an individualist rush when you tune in. Livy B has a clear style that is so obviously true to her nature. It's chaotic but chic, and it's exciting to live in her mind when you listen to her music. With "Frankenstein" creating such a deep impression onto listeners, it's exciting to see what will come next from Livy B.
