Ava Franks has released her new single, “Good Scar.” An irresistible pop track that allows deeper exploration into feeling brave in the face of new love despite fears of the future, Frank settles herself with sparkling synths and a driving bass. “Good Scar” helps those who fear the future with a new partner by examining how, even though it might not work out, fear only holds back and never allows for the good to come into our lives. With a want to experience everything with her new partner, even the good and the bad, Franks is ready to explore new connections and face the future on her terms and who she chooses to be with.

“Good Scar” is intimate yet far-reaching throughout the song. Franks’ collaboration with producers and writers Shep Goodman and Aaron Accetta shines through this song’s production, using both slowing tempos and a pick-up in the instrumentation at the chorus. These variations help the song feel new and fresh to listeners, adding to Franks’ growing discography. Speaking of Franks’ discography, “Good Scar” is a stand-out in her discography, both vocally and writing wise. Complex ideas create interesting concepts within the writing of “Good Scar” and an original take on songs that find singers starting a new relationship, and Franks’ vocals are as smooth as silk. “Good Scar” is a great introduction for those new to Ava Franks’ discography, and for those who are returning, it’s a warm welcome back.

Ava Franks is an American singer based in New York. Inspired by the storytelling by singer-songwriters like Sarah McLachlan and production of artists like Lorde Franks’ artistry shines throughout her discography. Singing from a young age, Franks has been inspired by music for as long as she can remember. Writing about the coming-of-age experiences that have happened within her early adulthood, Franks discovers that figuring out life one song at a time both helps her to reflect and do what she loves.
