"How to Be Alone" is the newest single from Kat Brix, a song about trying to leave the nightlife lifestyle and commit to one person. Brix wants to be in a committed relationship, but doesn't know how to start, as she has been used to hookups and flings, which has been her safety net in terms of romantic connections with others. She only wants to either be dating someone or have a fling, as she doesn't want to be alone, as the song's title references. She doesn't want her safety net to just be having flings, and she wants to get out of her comfort zone by finding someone to be in a relationship with.
Influences of nightcore and electronica are found throughout "How to Be Alone". Alongside additions of sound effects and vocal sampling comes incredible melodies and the whispering reverbed strums of a guitar, making the production very creative and distinct to all other kinds of music. Brix also has an amazing and striking singing voice, which goes with the fast-paced choruses and toned-down verses. Between the fills of hyperpop vibes are moments where some of the production elements and layers are removed to create a distant sound amongst a beat of a different tempo, making this song perfect to listen to in a nightclub, further worldbuilding with the lyrics of the song.
Kat Brix is a music artist from Denmark. She has been working on beginning her music career for a few years, and in January 2025 released her debut single "In Love With a Psycho". In addition to this and "How to Be Alone", she also released the March 2025 single "Make It on My Own". Preceding her journey into the music industry, she attended the Danish National Academy of Music, where she earned a degree after studying how to make music, producing being one of her many musical talents. Her main music influences are hyperpop, similar to "How to Be Alone", and her overall aesthetic matches that along with futuristic vibes. Kat Brix is a stupendous and very talented artist!
