“I Quit for Summer” is the newest single from LACES, a song about taking a break to have fun during the summer season. There are many things in life that cause you to be stressed and overworked and make it so that you’re having a hard time, such as a job, being in a toxic relationship, being friends with the wrong people, and so on. LACES has had enough of all of this and decides she needs to move on from these things in order to have fun and have a great time this summer. If you live somewhere that’s cold all year round except for the short period of time from June-August, you usually have to wait for months until you can finally see the sun when it’s not blocked by a flurry of clouds, and you won’t be freezing the second you leave your house. The production of “I Quit for Summer” will transport you right back to the 80s and the era of upbeat pop music and disco synths that dominated the time period. Just like how LACES says she wants to quit and have fun, listening to this single will make you feel the same exact way. You can hear this kind of song at the club or at a pool party, and everyone will stop what they’re doing and start dancing. The vibes will be elevated onto another level once the chorus hits and flows through the speakers and boomboxes and into your ears. You could also hear this song on the radio while driving and sing it at the top of your lungs.
LACES, is a singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from Wall Township, New Jersey and is based in Los Angeles, California. She has used different aliases when releasing her work, including the name Charlotte Sometimes for her May 2008 debut album Waves and the Both of Us and on the competition show The Voice. She has continued to release music under that name, as well as LACES, starting with the March 2015 single “Love Me Sober”. She released her debut album Super Weirdo as LACES in May 2022. She also writes songs for musicians and makes music for cartoons. LACES is an incredible and immensely talented artist!
