"Joyride" by Mollie Edsell is an immersive track that follows a speaker in pursuit of romance while they analyze their own imperfections. Reaching out for connection and addressing self-criticism at the same time, the lyrics say "listen to the mess that is me." The inspiring message in this song lets listeners know that you don't have to be perfect in order to give a relationship a try, as the speaker boldly displays honestly and self-awareness about their own flaws. In this vulnerable look into the speaker's life, courage shines through with words like "I'll still fly when I'm nervous." This song takes on the fear and joy of intimate connection, emphasizing the reality that it takes bravery to let someone in, and you can't control the way they react to every part of you.

Fans of Maggie Rogers and early Taylor Swift will love this emotional folk-pop track. Upbeat acoustic strumming opens the tune, with the strings ringing out somewhat percussively. High vocals begin, taking on the curiosity and questioning of the lyrics. Mollie's voice is breathy, moving silkily through the chorus with layered vocals. A touch of country pop is infused into the twangy singing and guitar of the track. Emphatic, energetic drumming and ambient electric guitar chords in the background emerge as the song goes on. High keyboard notes ring out, complimenting the guitar and percussion before the song ends leaning into the beautiful high range of Mollie's vocals.

Mollie Edsell is a New York City-based singer and songwriter with an indie folk pop style. "Joyride" is the title track off her new EP of the same name, which will be released on September 25th. She regularly showcases her skillful vocals and acoustic guitar talents at venues across the New York, recently having performed at Starr Bar in Brooklyn, and has performed at venues across the US including West Hollywood's Hotel Ziggy and Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu.
