Child plays with the proverb, “when life gives you lemons,” in “Lemonade.” It’s hard to balance life. When the pressure’s strong, it’s easy to collapse. But Child reminds her listeners that they don’t have to fall. Add a little sugar to the situation, and things will get better. To Child, nothing is a waste. Sometimes the traffic jam leads you to the scenic route where you can watch the sunset. Sometimes the heartbreak leads to a spectacular poem. Entrepreneurs start with a problem that needs to be solved, and it leads to a grand solution. Child unfolds the recipe through her music, showing listeners that creativity saves the day.
