"Magnetic" by Dani Stocksdale is a song about desire. The speaker's words are a direct message to their partner in a relationship that seems driven by physical attraction. Using x-ray as a metaphor for perception, the song opens by revealing how intimately seen the speaker feels by the object of her desire. In the second verse, the message diverges from that feeling of intimacy to exposed vulnerability with lyrics, "so high and mighty with my name in your teeth/like how it tastes when they see u with me." This immersive tune is wrapped in the emotions of a romantic entanglement whose connection goes beyond what words can accomplish.
Twinkling ambient instrumentals and a loop of rhythmic percussion start the track off before Dani's vocals join the mix. Her singing is remeniscent of Gracie Abrams with its balance of melodic speak-singing and expressive nature.
