There comes a time every few days, weeks or even months where you stop and take a second to breathe. There is so much time in one single day that we spend constantly doing things and being on the go. We often forget to take a step back once every few hours and just enjoy the moment we are in. Whether you are driving, sitting at work, studying or even hanging out with friends we are never truly alone. We can never just take a step back and let out all the emotions we are feeling because there is always so much to do. Markoe’s brand-new single “Malta” reminds us to do exactly what we can never find time to do, which is to stop, look around, and breathe or laugh or even cry.
The delicate and light piano keys opening this track immediately caught my attention. I am such a huge fan of any acoustic musical vibe. It gives off such a dreamy but euphoric mood to me. This whole track was so vulnerable and authentic with lyrics like “Drowning in my own thoughts” and “I thought I was happy / But I cry alone on the balcony.” They were so touching, and you could really feel how deeply this song means to her. This track is the perfect song to listen to if you ever need a reminder that it’s okay to feel not okay with anything going on in life.
Markoe is a new singer/songwriter from Australia. She debuted her first single titled “Malta” on April 30, 2025, and has already accumulated 500 plus monthly listeners. Her journey into the music industry is so unique as she was once a schoolteacher who found love in music. This song is just the beginning of her amazing career with open and heartfelt music. If you haven’t already, I seriously recommend listening to her outstanding new release.
