"Memory Star" by Kissmet is light, airy, fun and what I would consider summer in a song. With its gentle beginning, familiarity and good energy, it feels like a song that we've had around forever while still adding their own twist of originality. As we wrap up July, it feels like summer really flew by. It can feel so easy to look at August, where a lot of us are about to start school up again as a sign that summer is coming to a close. "Memory Star" is a great reminder to remain in the present and soak up the rest of the warm weather we can get while we still have it. The lyrics speak to the audience members as a genius while the sound of the guitar can make you feel like you're 12 years old again.

The beginning of the song starts off with a gentle piano to ease us into the song before the vocals start. The first chorus is accompanied by a guitar pluck that adds to the delicacy in an edgy way. The lyrics are incredibly smart and creative. The phrase "memory star" is an incredibly unique way of talking about someone being on your mind all the time. The chorus also feeds into that idea saying things like, "But my head is your cinema, You're playing on my mind like a memory star." Even with all of that, the song is incredibly catchy and within a few times listening through, you'll be able to sing along to it so easily.

Kissmet is a london-based pop band whose main focus is creating independently unique songs and music. The band is on the younger side, with their first releases being at the end of 2025, but that's a simple humble brag. The band is incredibly smart and already knows their sound and voice. Everything that they write, produce and create is entirely in-house by the band themselves. The band prides themselves on owning their creative vision, as we should advocate for all artists to do especially in an industry that can be taken over by AI. Kissmet is just getting started and the world is ready for them. Listen to "Memory Star" on any streaming platform.
