Review: "My Problem" - Jordi

Pop newcomer Jordi just released her latest single "My Problem" on October 27, 2023. The commercial pop track serves as a dig to her ex-beau and his new girl, as she sings about how much better off that she is free from him and the pain that he caused. Jordi blends together elements of hip hop, electro-pop, and piano melodies into a captivating track about love, loss, and healing. Before, she let this man bring her sadness. Now, she has shrugged off the weight of that relationship and accepted that it will be this new girl's issue. Feeling lighter without him in her life, she bids them both well and good luck.

"My Problem" by Jordi features the catchy refrain, "You didn't steal my man, nah ah nah / You just stole my problem," as she calls out her ex and his new girlfriend for their wrongdoings and realizes that she will be better off without him dragging her down. Over an upbeat, danceable production, she gets vulnerable about how she struggled with paranoia and heartbreak in their relationship. However, she has come to understand that she deserves much better and is happier without him. The anthemic track feels like one big middle finger to her ex and the other girl that pursued him. If you've ever lost someone to someone else, it can be a difficult pain. But Jordi has released one exciting track that will allow you to dance through the pain, remember your worth, and wish those two the best with their lives as you move on to something better.

Growing up in Myrtle Beach, 19-year-old singer-songwriter Jordi got her start in music on the stages of South Carolina. She managed to gain a fanbase for her comedy videos on Tiktok in 2018 and shared covers to YouTube and Tiktok in 2019. Taking inspiration from artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, she has crafted an infectious pop sound that focuses on strong, storytelling lyricism.
