Review: “NEPO BABY” - Mo Bentley

Mo Bentley has released her new single, “NEPO BABY.” Her seventh release of 2026, Bentley’s usage of electro-pop throughout her discography continues on to “NEPO BABY” with inspiration from the recent examination of children of celebrities becoming famous due to nepotism. With Bentley’s type falling under this affluent lifestyle, nepo babies fit right in. While a rags-to-riches story may not be apart of this hit, Bentley’s infectious melody and lyrics will catch listeners and hook them right in. With “an eye for luxury and [Los Angeles] life,” Bentley’s type of partner finds herself at the intersection of luxury and superficiality, and while Los Angeles may have it’s residents be stereotyped to be social climbers, Bentley makes her opinion clear: she wants a life of luxury, and isn’t afraid to showcase it through a hit single.
“NEPO BABY” found me when I was listening to Mo Bentley for the first time. While I may have never heard her discography before, Bentley has found herself a new fan through “NEPO BABY.” With the prominence of electro-pop rising over the last year with Slayyyter’s album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, Tiffany Day’s Halo, and Underscores’ U, it’s no shocker that Mo Bentley is one of the rising pop stars within the industry. Learning from her predecessors, Bentley’s release of “NEPO BABY“ only adds to her ever-growing discography and defines her more as a leader within the pop world. “NEPO BABY” has lyrics that are both tongue-in-cheek and vulnerable, showing Bentley’s strong ability to have fun while taking herself and her art serously. With Bentley’s ability to transform words on a paper to hard-hitting lyrics shining throughout “NEPO BABY,” there’s no doubt in my mind that Bentley’s rise in the pop-sphere is going to stop any time soon.
Mo Bentley is an American singer. Taking inspiration from Ariana Grande, Madison Beer, Bentley serves perfection in her discography, just as every pop diva should. Originally hailing from Portland, Oregon, Bentley found her love of music through writing songs and performing. While she may have been told that her dreams would never be achieved, Bentley proved those who believed that wrong. During her freshman year of high school, Bentley auditioned for The Voice, passing through multiple rounds before ultimately being cut from the show. Despite her struggles, Bentley didn’t let that stop her, moving to Los Angeles to attend the Los Angeles College of Music to continually help define her sound and deepen her love for the art of music.
