Matthew Orgel lingers in the colorful lighting of youth and the path with no direction in his latest single, "NEXT BAR." While his friends plant their feet in solid jobs and exchange vows with partners, Orgel refuses to rush. Parties shifted to dining with grand pianos, chandeliers, and white wine, but he finds thrills in the local bars with loud karaoke machines, sticker-covered photobooths, and martinis. Orgel's not just holding onto the past, but the unpredictability of those nights—wondering who will dance with him. Like a Peter Pan of the twenties, Matthew Orgel raises that drink as a way back to the first shot of Tequila—and "NEXT BAR" is a way to say "Cheers!"

On the EP THE THRILL OF IT, "NEXT BAR" slows down time. The bouncy keyboard and thumping drums piece together a skipping-down-the-street rhythm. A hint of '80s-inspired textured synths fulfills the nostalgic mood, without trapping us in a time machine. In Taylor Swift's Lover fashion, the twinkling melody controls the song with a bubbly, light, and airy atmosphere that suggests one more round and one more song. Orgel's silky voice adds maturity, pouring experience and authenticity into the story—the struggle between growing into society's standards and living by your heart's standards.

The born-and-raised New York pop songwriter, Matthew Orgel, creates playful, upbeat tracks. He released his EP THE THRILL OF IT on January 9th. He expanded the layers of production, turning up the volume on synth-heavy tracks and adding a stronger edge to lyrics. He knows how to turn those troubling experiences and heartbreaks into songs dripping in style. He has mastered his skills at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His passion for music began at four years old, when he learned to play the piano. You can keep up with his releases and covers on his socials, through the links below.
