The lyrics in "Obsessed" are simply honest and emotional. Harvey sings about being stuck on someone, even when he knows it’s not good for him. The song replicates a late-night thought spiral, when your mind won’t stop thinking about someone. The verses feel personal, almost like reading a page from his journal. His words are simple but hit hard, and they’re relatable, hearing the pain in his voice as he sings. He sings in a soft and smooth tone, but there’s a lot of emotion underneath that carries the emotion. He’s not trying to be perfect—he’s just being real. That honesty makes the song really easy to connect with and enjoy.

Harvey brings his whole heart when it comes to putting all the pieces together to form this anthem. It is hard for artists to be able to sing their emotions while simultaneously creating production to match the message, but "Obsessed" does it with ease. The song starts with light piano and builds up before reaching the chorus. As the song progresses, it only gets more catchy and relatable. There are background layers—like faint harmonies and echoing sounds—that make the song feel full without being too polished.  Every sound feels like it has a purpose. It’s clear Harvey knows exactly how he wants his music to make people feel.

Harvey Brittain is a 23-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer from Preston, England. He now lives in Los Angeles after signing with Jake Ottmann’s indie label, Slumbo Labs. Inspired by his dad, who also played music, Harvey started playing piano at age four. At 15, he performed on a British talent show in front of big names like Robbie Williams. He chose not to continue with it, but took Williams’ advice to live life and write about it. Harvey started studying at Berklee College of Music with help from author Lee Child.

Harvey now releases new songs every six weeks and has played sold-out shows in London, New York, and L.A. With influences like Harry Styles, The 1975, and Frank Ocean, Harvey is making heartfelt, honest music with a sound that’s all his own.
