Review: "Palace of Dreams" - Lee Cole

It feels that as of recently, everything seems a bit dull. I think we can all agree that there are just certain songs that are your "go-to" ones when you need a little pick-me-up. More recently, I've found myself listening to those songs but their not doing anything for me right now. It feels quite fitting considering that the weather is turning gloomy and cold outside. Listening to "Palace of Dreams" by Lee Cole has completely cured me from this feeling. The brightness of the song is a breath of fresh air from the dull cycle of life that's been on my mind plus it brings in some warmth that feels absolutely like perfect timing. This song might be the thing that we need in order to get through the winter.

This song's sound is so hard to try and put into words on how it really sounds. The beginning of the song really brings me back to early 2010's pop/house music with the catchiest, bounciest sound. There's so much, though, makes it feel so modern. I feel like the vocals throughout this song is really the star. The harmonies in the chorus make everything sound so open and big which ties into this overall big idea of a "palace of dreams." The artwork isn't something we usually touch on, but I can't but point out how the visual of this artwork really represents the way this song sounds which is something I just haven't seen done so well before. Lee Cole brings out their music genius brain in this song in so many ways. I can't wait for more people to listen to it.
