Review: "Ravers" - Ellie Goulding

In preparation for her upcoming sixth full-length record I Know Too Much, Ellie Goulding has released three incredible singles that represent the musical depth and overall themes of the album, one of them being "Ravers". The final track, Goulding sings about finding true love in the flashing lights and intense music of nightlife. She founds enjoyment and comfort in the idea of going out and having fun with this person, and dancing with them until the sun comes up. She establishes herself as a true raver, emphasizing the rest of the lyrics in this song, as well as representing how raves are very popular in England, her home country.
As the single's title implies, the production of "Ravers" is imbued with electronic synths, but still draws from Goulding's signature sound, and also features distinctive elements and her one-of-a-kind vocals. The extended intro pays homage to the typical style of club music, and the piano notes intertwined in the layers of technological instruments provide a classy yet upbeat clubbing experience. If you heard "Ravers" at a party, everyone would jump up out of their seats, as the tantalizing bass in in this song, in addition to the rest of the soundscape, would sound impeccable flowing through big speakers.
Ellie Goulding is a musician and activist from England, where she is based in London. Originally, she grew up in Herefordshire, perfecting her musical craft before being discovered and becoming the amazing performer the world knows her as today. She released her debut album Lights in 2010, and her sophomore album Halcyon two years later. In 2015, she released one of her many iconic hits, "Love Me Like You Do", as part of the soundtrack for the 2015 blockbuster movie Fifty Shades of Grey; the song was also a track on Goulding's third album Delirium, released that same year. This was followed by more excellent musical projects, her fourth and fifth albums, Brightest Blue and Higher Than Heaven, respectively. On September 4, she will release the genre-shifting and anticipated I Know Too Much.
