Review: "Run Run Run" - CAPPA

CAPPA has released her newest single, "Run Run Run." When begging for a lover to love her back, CAPPA reaches acceptance as she releases the want to teach them how to love her. Whether it'd be through the unlimited attempts to convince them to not run away or the realization that no matter how hard she loves them they'll run, CAPPA has finally had enough. Reaching a peace within the silence and no longer losing herself within her partner, "Run Run Run" explores how avoidance in love may affect partners and what acceptance sounds like after gaining the knowledge that they may never change, no matter how hard you want them to.
I've reviewed different songs that cover anxious-avoidant relationships in different ways throughout my time reviewing here at Pop Passion, but I have to say that "Run Run Run" and it's persistent message of knowing you have might have nothing to do with how someone may love may be my favorite take on the topic so far. CAPPA's lyrics show how both resilient and sympathetic she is toward the partner. Her strength is both shown in being there for her ex-partner and her vocals, soft but firm. While CAPPA may have tried everything to get her ex-partner to love her the way she deserves to be love, she effortlessly succeeds in listeners (me included) loving "Run Run Run."
CAPPA, otherwise known as Carla Cappa, is an American singer-songwriter. Hailing from the Philadelphia outskirts, CAPPA found her love of music at the age of seven when she learned guitar for the first time and started songwriting as a way of journaling. Having been based in Nashville and now residing in Los Angeles, CAPPA has earned critical acclaim from Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, and listeners. Becoming a major featured artist in the EDM scene and having songs be featured in Netflix, Marvel, and ads for both Victoria's Secret and Haus Laboratories, it's clear to see CAPPA isn't slowing down any time soon.
