You can be presented with all the red flags in the world and sometimes it’s still not enough to turn you away when you’re so infatuated with someone. You find excuses for every behavior because the want is so strong. All logic goes out the window when the possibility of sharing something deeper comes into play. It’s a whirlwind and it never turns out the way you hope, but sometimes it can be fun to get lost in the chaos. Lucy Frost’s new single “Shit Kicker” captures the thrilling push and pull of falling for someone despite seeing their flaws. It’s energetic and infectious capturing all that comes with having a new obsession. It’s the perfect song for summer flings laced in delusion.
“Shit Kicker” is the final roll out single for Lucy’s debut album “Vitamins.” This track allowed her to explore the wilder side of herself that gives up self-control and logic to desire. She stated “Shit Kicker” is about falling headfirst, eyes closed, towards what will only be an inevitable downfall. It can be addictive to want someone you know is bad for you. You try to chase the thoughts about but the lingering what if’s push you closer and closer. It’s a relatable feeling that Lucy captured perfectly. “I’ll make you mine, I think I’ll make you my fixation.” With a fun bass line, head bumping drums and lust filled guitar melodies, this is the song you’ll blare with the windows rolled down.
