Are you ready to be BLOWN AWAY? Aiko’s newest release, “Shotgun”, is giving big-stepping energy that will do so! No matter how hard we can be on ourselves, we need to remember that we ARE those queens/kings that can own the room in a minute! This song can turn that switch on and have you feeling confident in ease. For me personally, I felt like a boss after having this on repeat getting ready for a late-night outing. This song captures that feeling and gives a bold outlook, title included, on how to shoot them down. Strut, pose, and own yourself with this hit!
This song is part of Aiko’s interactive project, “Bonbonniere”, where fans vote on what song is coming out next, and once the polls are in, the song is released the following month. There is a pre-save link that gets sent out, and on release day, it automatically turns into a streaming link! While that’s pretty cool on its own, I need to touch on the epic instrumental within “Shotgun”. Right off the bat, the clapping drums make it seem like heels clacking down a hallway, already giving that boss energy. Followed by the thumping bass and Aiko’s flowy vocals, the song starts to weave into a force that cannot be reckoned with. The energy is brought on by the electric guitar, accompanied by many cool synths that add more the the electric-pop vibe. What really completes this song though is the different sounds effects, like the cocking of the gun at various points and the light bell during the chorus. The song os truly an energy boost to have listeners feel confident and beautiful!
Aiko is a London-based yet Moscow-born and Czech Republic-raised singer and songwriter. This mix of cultures and influences is reflected on the unique blend of Akko’s music, with the atmosphere, dream vibes, and energy. She started her career with an appearance on TV show, “Superstar”. Following that, she released her debut self-titled album in 2015. This led to success, with interviews, radio plays, and press mentions paving the way for her to make her mark. With many live performances, festivals, and even representing the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Aiko was taking audiences’ hearts.
