Review: "Silhouettes" - Jacob Frohde

Growing up and figuring out who we are or who we want to be is one of the most challenging things humans face within their lives; especially when there's people telling you be someone you're not. Sometimes people are caught up in trying to fit the mold that thier family or society has shaped for them, too scared to disappoint or to not be considered good enough. Situations like this are so toxic for our minds; we may be pleasing everyone else, but at the end of the day you're not happy because you're stuck being somebody you're not. "Silhouettes" by Jacob Frohde is about finding someone you can be yourself with in the midst of this challenging time. When you're with them, you can be comfortable, happy and all those outsiders who wouldn't accept you just fade away from your mind; becoming those unrecognizable silhouettes. It's like nothing else matters when you've got a person who loves you for just the way you are.

"Silhouettes" by Jacob Frohde is a soft, delicate, and beautiful modern pop ballad. With minimalistic but gorgeous instrumentation, Jacob puts his uniquely stunning voice at the forefront. You can feel the emotion in every note he sings, and it's a very cathardic experience. The chorus is my personal favorite part of this track because the melody, harmonies and the piano blend so well that it almost brought me to tears. This radio worthy song is pop perfection between it's high-quality production, songwriting, and Jacob's impressively captivating voice.

Jacob Frohde is a singer/songwriter based in Stockholm, Sweden who has been revolving his life around music since he was a kid. Since then, over the past few years he has released 6 more singles including "Silhouettes" which is his most recent with "Let Me Talk" being his other release from this year. Jacob compares his sound to the likes of Julia Michaels, JP Saxe and Leon. If you loved "Silhouettes", make sure to give his other tracks a listen!
