Review: "Sisters" - Becca Tremmel

Everyone hears songs about romantic breakups, but what about friendship breakups? As if she heard our prayers, Becca Tremmel has released her new song, “Sisters,” about the heartbreak of falling out with her best friend. Musicians have much to say about breaking up with your significant other, but not many have opened up about the pain of ending a friendship. Although it hurts to relate to “Sisters,” it can also feel comforting to know that someone else has gone through a similar situation and was brave enough to share it with the world. Life has given Becca Tremmel lemons, but “Sisters” is the lemonade that quenches our thirst for songs about the unexplored topic of friendship breakups.

Becca Tremmel is a singer-songwriter, and her skills are apparent in her new single, “Sisters.” She plays the guitar throughout the song and pairs the instruments with her heartfelt vocals. The consistent strumming pattern gives comfort to those listening. You can hear the genuine emotions as she sings about the friendship betrayal she went through. Although it is a sad song, something beautiful came out of it. The song’s production is clean and clear, allowing listeners to pay attention to the lyrics. The harmonies in the chorus are a great addition to the song. The song already sounds gentle, but the harmonies elevate the track. It sounds like a genuine hug, and we do not want to let go.

Becca Tremmel fell in love with music at an early age. At just five years old, she created and memorized melodies and lyrics and took an interest in song structure. When she heard “Teardrops on my Guitar” by Taylor Swift, she knew she wanted to be a songwriter. She learned how to play the guitar, took vocal lessons, and wrote lyrics in her journal. Becca Tremmel wrote her first song at 15. After sailing around the world as a cruise ship musician in 2019, she officially pursued a music career, playing full band shows around Nashville, Tennessee with her all-female band. She has a few released songs under her belt and is excited to continue her journey as an artist.
