“Temporary” is the newest single from Kennedy Taylor, a song about “temporarily” reigniting an old relationship with someone that’s too hard to let go of. While you know you’re better off without them, it’s easier to give into temptation than to walk away. Taylor sings about these feelings of indecisiveness, explaining how she only wants to revisit the past for a few moments, but not forever, because she knows she and her ex can’t stay together, and she doesn’t want to get hurt again. It’s difficult to cut loose from what feels comfortable, even when it’s supposed to be the better decision, but sometimes it just hurts too much to do so.
After listening to “Temporary”, you can tell that this single has a very unique and distinct production style, exuding summery, pop vibes with dashes of dark pop and alternative sounds. The way the synths crescendo from the verses leading to the choruses help carry these musical themes. Also, the way these synths align with Taylor’s amazing vocals in the foreground of the song helps define the instruments instead of just being in the background. All of the elements in the production each play many different roles that create a multidimensional single, personifying the lyrics and varying subgenres together into an incredible song.
Kennedy Taylor is a music artist from Newport Beach, California. She began her studio career in January of this year with the release of her debut single “Cycle”, and has published more music since then, including her upcoming next song “Need You to Save Me”. It’s without a doubt that Taylor is exceptionally talented in several realms of music, from her fantastic songwriting abilities to branding strategies.
