Review: "The Change" - Madison Pais

The Change by Madison Pais cover art

Rising pop artist Madison Pais just released her latest track, “The Change,” on June 5, 2024. The new song tackles choosing faith over fear. Specifically, within the context of going back to a former love and being open for the change in that. The release features an electro pop production that is perfect for fans of pop icons like Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and Katy Perry. Whatever changes you might be going through in life right now, Pais inspires listeners to stand with their arms wide open and brave it. This was my first introduction to Madison Pais, and after hearing "The Change," I am so excited to see what she will release next.

On "The Change," Pais narrates the hopeful tale of reconnected love. It offers a sweet sentiment to those who are faced with new beginnings. Some standout lyrics within this theme of simulataneously starting new and moving back include "I know faith's the only remedy for pain" and "I've been waiting on Heaven / But I'm standing at the gates." Even if you aren't on the verge of starting again with someone you once loved, you can see yourself in the eagerness and uncertainty that this protagonist faces. Complementing this is a fun dance pop production and Pais' sparkling vocals.

Singer-songwriter Madison Pais began her journey into the music realm at 13 years old when she first picked up a guitar. Songwriting became an outlet for her bottled up feelings, which we can see so vividly in the storytelling and authenticitiy in "The Change." Most themes in her music follow relationships and heartbreak; these are universal experiences that allow her music to resonate deeply with listeners.
